badatpool Posted June 14, 2004 at 01:28 PM Report Posted June 14, 2004 at 01:28 PM I used to think that I'm very familiar with chinese style until I showed something I thought was Chinese to a friend, and he said it wasn't(but my professor said its very chinese,he've researched it for long time). So I've been wondering what is chinese style, who really can get and tell it?! Quote

39degN Posted June 14, 2004 at 02:37 PM Report Posted June 14, 2004 at 02:37 PM it depends on which kind of chinese styles are you pursuing, becuase there are chinese style and chinese style, e.g. ancient style, middle style, and modern style, your whole pic's colors arrangement could be existing in ancient, but today, ppl usually dont like dark colors. so they may cosider it non chinese style. as for the pattern itself, i think the left part more chinese. P.S. [edit, see pm pls] Quote
Xuan Yuan Posted June 14, 2004 at 06:20 PM Report Posted June 14, 2004 at 06:20 PM This is Chinese. The style was very popular in pre-Tang China. I would guess it came from Warring State era. Quote
badatpool Posted June 15, 2004 at 09:58 AM Author Report Posted June 15, 2004 at 09:58 AM I would guess it came from Warring State era. Pretty close, but it's earlier than War Period, about in Spring and Autumn Period. Quote
