crouchingdragon Posted August 13, 2008 at 07:52 PM Report Share Posted August 13, 2008 at 07:52 PM Please, does anyone know if Chinese-Pera Kun, which works wonderfully with Firefox can also function similarly if used as an add-on with Microsoft Windows Explorer ? Or is their a similar mouse rollover Chinese pop-up utility for Explorer ? Thanks,
mikevwilliams Posted August 13, 2008 at 08:35 PM Report Share Posted August 13, 2008 at 08:35 PM I use a free translation tool called Lingoes, which you can google for of course. I'm using the CEdict dictionary, and also dict.cn online lookup, which are both used when I want a mouse-over translation, and it works in any application. There are a few others out there like Stardict and Kingsoft Powerword, but I personally prefer Lingoes
ABCinChina Posted August 23, 2008 at 03:20 AM Report Share Posted August 23, 2008 at 03:20 AM I tried out Lingoes and the interface looks great. However, I don't like the way you have to press Ctrl + click in order to get a definition for a word. I prefer the Powerword style where you just hover your mouse over a word to get a definition. (There seems to be no way to change this setting)
mikevwilliams Posted August 23, 2008 at 08:45 AM Report Share Posted August 23, 2008 at 08:45 AM You can toggle the mouse over translation on/off with lingoes, the default key combination is Alt+G, but you can change this if you click Configuration in the main window, then click the Hotkeys tab.
