BrandeX Posted August 14, 2008 at 02:24 PM Report Posted August 14, 2008 at 02:24 PM I have yet to find an US accredited online Chinese learning program at ANY level. I could also use more credits. Quote
xtenhome Posted August 14, 2008 at 10:02 PM Report Posted August 14, 2008 at 10:02 PM can you explain further what you mean "certified to teach high school chinese" ? Who certifies you ? What certification ? Quote
Meng Lelan Posted August 15, 2008 at 02:20 AM Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 at 02:20 AM xtenhome -Certification is Texas State License for teaching Chinese in a public high school grades 9-12. Getting the certificate requires a high score on the ACTFL written and oral exams. BrandeX - Me too! I wish I could get a master's degree in Chinese literature. But I teach during the school year so I only get summers off. I do know that Middlebury College has a program where you can spend four summers there taking Chinese graduate level courses in order to get a master's in Chinese language and literature. skylee - thanks! I am very glad to finally get the certificate, considering the exams were quite a challenge! Quote
