Luobot Posted August 17, 2008 at 08:53 PM Report Posted August 17, 2008 at 08:53 PM (edited) If anyone is familiar with EzyChinese.com, what’s your opinion? I came across some demo content on their site, such as a video situational dialogue called, “Asking for Directions” about pickup lines that a Western guy tries on Chinese girls. It’s humorous, though I cringe to think that any guys will take them seriously and actually try it out. Putting aside the primitiveness of the Western guy’s pick-up attempts, the vocabulary and sentence patterns seem good for someone at an early beginner level. For this type of instructional video, it appears to be fairly polished. It’s slightly reminiscent of the early HotPot videos from ChinesePod, which were wildly popular but apparently unprofitable. The situational dialogue video also has a pdf and an instructional video that breaks down the dialogue. I’d be interested in hearing opinions from anyone who subscribes to them, especially with regards to overall quality of content and value. Edited August 17, 2008 at 09:09 PM by Luobot typo Quote
bluemonkey Posted August 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM Report Posted August 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM Yeah, wow, what a smooth operator! I'm a beginner so this stuff is pretty good for me as the sentence structure seems concise and minimal. How is the westerners accent and tone accuracy? Quote
