Are these good example sentences? / nciku.com

I've been looking for a site that will show me the meaning of Chinese words in context, via example sentences. I found www.nciku.com -- does anyone have any other suggestions?

And what do you think of the following sentences I took from the site? Are they good, natural, 'native' usage (so should I be confident in the site...)?

For: 适合

他最适合做这件事，我敢打包票。

她适合做教师。

适合于她的情况不一定都会适合于你, 你看问题不要太模式化了。

For: 从而

公司决定裁员，从而削减成本。

经过调查研究,从而找到了解决问题的方法

For: 主张

我根本就不赞成你的主张。

他主张马上来个彻底改变，我觉得这意见太激进了。

The website lets you enter a word/phrase and responds with a definition and sentences.

These sentences can not be considered good, although nothing is wrong, it's just the wording sounds like decades ago

My chinese friend said, that the sentences are all correct; but she said that she felt they are a little old-fashioned and pretty complicated - but this can of course be a compliment for your study level.

btw Great site (unless someone finds flaws) I have bookmarked it and will use.

The sample sentences from their their lessons, so somewhat limited in the number of examples, but the ones I've found seem to be pretty good as far as I can tell.

None of the sentences are old fashioned. The examples on '从而‘ would more likely be written words, conversational. Besides, one can not really fault the examples. It is '从而‘ itself having that tendency.

All the examples are good except for the second example on '从而‘.

Thanks guys, that's encouraging. To avoid learning vocab in isolation, I'm trying to incorporate new words into example sentences.

Even if they're not 100% contemporary/conversational, as long as the meaning is okay, and the syntax & word-orders are correct, then I guess I won't be picking up any bad habits so this should be helpful.

The sentences seem fine to me, could vampire explain why the wording seems from decades ago? (Keeping in mind that this is written/formal style of course.)

All the examples are good except for the second example on '从而‘.

原句在我念来,就是有点"不对劲儿". 至于是什么道理,可能 Annaliu 会说得清楚些.

I see. I get the feeling it's because 经过 matches with 终于 and maybe other similar words, while 从而 feels a bit redundant when used with 经过 and therefore normally isn't used with it. How's this:

[公司]后来进行调查研究,从而找到了解决问题的方法.

根据我的词典的定义：

【从而】 - 连词，上文是原因、方法等，下文是结果、目的等。

原因： 经过调查研究

结果： 找到了解决问题的方法

因为（经过调查研究）的原因，结果（找到了解决问题的方法） - 似乎没有什么逻辑上的问题...

如果把这句改为：

经过调查研究之后，找到了解决问题的方法。

是否会比较"对劲儿"？

细想一下， ‘A 从而 B’ 的句式， 好像可以 解释成 ‘从 A 而 B’， ‘因 A 而 B’。这样看的话，Creamyhorror 君说的没错，经过和从而有点重复。
