renzhe Posted May 25, 2009 at 03:57 PM Report Posted May 25, 2009 at 03:57 PM If I understand correctly, rikesh' excel file covers HSK lists 1 and 2. This should cover the vocabulary used in the Basic test (HSK levels 1-3). But keep in mind that this is just vocabulary. HSK is a comprehensive test that will measure your listening skills, reading ability, grammar, and lots of other things. Just knowing a bunch of words is not enough. Quote
New Members huilaile Posted December 11, 2010 at 10:45 PM New Members Report Posted December 11, 2010 at 10:45 PM Around 4 years (2006ish), I remember an excel spreadsheet was being circulated on these forums that contained 30,000 WORDS (2-3 character combinations that made up discrete chinese vocab words). Anybody still have it? I'd need to start reviewing and that list is a great starting point. tyia Quote
c_redman Posted December 14, 2010 at 05:06 PM Report Posted December 14, 2010 at 05:06 PM The University of Leeds has some frequency lists with that many words (scroll to the bottom section "Frequency Lists") derived from large corpora. The Gigaword list has 25,000 words, and their internet corpus has 50,000 including punctuation and non-Chinese words. Quote
