mkengel Posted August 28, 2008 at 10:33 AM Report Posted August 28, 2008 at 10:33 AM I am looking for helpers for a project from which HanDeDict (http://chdw.de) and CC-CEDICT (http://cc-cedict.org) will profit. It resembles Gutenbergs distributed proofreaders system but it is manual. I have dictionaries which are public domain - they are not very old - 1970s/1980s. One of them is a physics dictionary with ca 30000 entries (Chinese->English). I need people who read the Hanzi in picture files and type them together with a line number into a text file or better an Excel or OpenOffice Calc file. Example: http://www.chinaboard.de/files/zeigen.jpg I have the English translations from an OCR and I am proof-reading them at the moment. When the Hanzi (the Pinyin are not necessary) are available, I join the sets and they will be read into CC-CEDICT. We at HanDeDict then still have to translate them into German. Anybody interested ? Then please contact me direktly via handedict@gmail.com. It most probably will start in October as I have to prepare the picture files. Looking forward to your help. Please forward our request to friends. Michael Quote
