multiplex77 Posted August 28, 2008 at 03:17 PM Report Posted August 28, 2008 at 03:17 PM Hi, Is there any software that I can input large amounts of Chinese simplified characters (eg, a whole newpaper article) and it returns: (1) The original characters (2) The pinyin with intonations below each character (3) The English translation (optional). Please do recommend if you have used anything like this. Thanks. Quote
flameproof Posted September 1, 2008 at 02:02 AM Report Posted September 1, 2008 at 02:02 AM If you just want Pinyin only you can use ZDT. Works also on larger text fine. Has of course the "normal" issues with such transformations, i.e. 说 may come out as shui4 and not shuo1 Quote

johnmck Posted September 4, 2008 at 06:46 AM Report Posted September 4, 2008 at 06:46 AM DimSum of Mandarin Tools will even give you a full vocabulary list of your article (with the English translation). It includes a dictionary that can be accessed by English, pinyin, Chinese or even by drawing the character with your mouse. DimSum is a must have, and it is free! Quote
