hijole Posted August 29, 2008 at 04:17 AM Report Posted August 29, 2008 at 04:17 AM Hello, I am interested in studying wushu as regulated by the International Wushu Federation (www.iwuf.org) in Beijing or anywhere in China. I have some experience with some schools in the Shaolin area but have found that they do more "exhibition" or "modern Shaolin" instead of 规定 or normative wushu. I am now in Beijing, and so far I have checked out a couple of schools: a Shaolin-Dengfeng style school in the outskirts, Shichahai next to Houhai (way too expensive), Beijing Sports University and Capital Sports University. I am thinking that the best choice is signing up in one of the universities, but the bad thing is that they only train 2:30 hours per day. I also thought about checking out some sports university in another province, like Shandong, since I guess it would be cheaper and perhaps more flexible as to the training hours. Does anybody have any experience with these schools? Or do you know somebody that does? Do you have any other advice? Please post as soon as possible as I have to decide by next week if I will go to one of the universities. Thank you. Oscar Quote
