huaqiao06 Posted August 29, 2008 at 05:23 AM Report Posted August 29, 2008 at 05:23 AM I live in Beijing and have 20-odd days to travel (back at school late Sept). like to know people's thoughts on these itineraries: Sichuan, Chongqing, Yangzi cruise, Hubei/Hunan (too rainy in Sept?) Sichuan/Guizhou/Guangxi -Qinghai/Tibet Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu, Xinjiang (if time) (I've seen the Hohhot/Baotou area in IM) I'm inclined to save this route for a proper (longer) Silk Road trip in the future, which I might possibly continue into Central Asia Heilongjiang (some nice spots like Changbaishan, but are these three provinces really worth the opportunity cost?) Being based in Beijing, I'd rather go somewhere distant (i.e. which can't be done as a weekend trip from the capital). I'm inclined to save Yunnan and Jiangnan (Jiangsu/Jiangxi/Zhejiang/Anhui) for spring, and I've visited Fujian/Guangdong. Does anyone know how late in Sept the autumn foliage comes out? any comments appreciated Quote
