Claw Posted June 17, 2004 at 08:10 AM Report Posted June 17, 2004 at 08:10 AM This happened a month ago but I didn't see much discussion about it. How do people feel about Taiwan's decision to switch to fully horizontal left-to-right writing for official documents instead of the traditional vertical top-to-bottom? Link to story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3683825.stm I guess it really doesn't matter too much since it doesn't change the understanding of the writing and from a pragmatic standpoint is probably beneficial, though it's kind of sad to see another aspect of Chinese culture start to disappear.
