Hi!

I was going to study at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies last year, but eventually gave it up for another University (better choice of accommodation). They were actually very forthcoming at GDUFS and even sent me their annual itinerary (Chinese classes at every level, timetable and all, I think I've got it somewhere on a flashdisk, I'll upload the file later, if I manage to find it).

I don't think Chinese classes are taught in English anywhere in China, maybe in some private schools. You should have some basic knowledge to start with. I suppose you will be coming from Turkey on exchange, right? So, from what I've heard teaching staff is excellent there - no need to worry about that, it's an institution which specializes in foreign languages after all.

As for residence permit I suppose you should be able to get one if you are on X visa and wish to return home during the holidays or you're just planning trips outside China during your studies.

I hope this little information helps. Anyway, wish you all the best in GZ  MUTLULUKLAR DILERIM! (I hope I've used the proper phrase here, any correction is welcome)
