QQ problems sending message

Hi,

I have just installed QQ on my PC. I log in fine, but for some reason I cannot send instant messages to new friends and I get a "Time out to send" error message. Do other users first have to accept my request to be in their buddy or address list?

maybe your connection to the user you are sending message to is not very well, I think the message is sent point to point, not via QQ server
