y00nsk Posted September 17, 2008 at 02:48 PM Report Posted September 17, 2008 at 02:48 PM I'm pretty sure I have to decide by the end of this week where I want to go for the National Holiday. I'm deciding between Yunnan and Guilin. After this semester is over at Beida I plan on traveling around the south of China, also. For this week long holiday, is it more worth it to go to Yunnan or Guilin? I would go to the one I didn't go to this break during the winter time. I heard both places are beautiful and I also heard Yunnan's weather is like spring all year round. I can't say the same thing for Guilin, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions? I'm also very concerned about price and trying to limit my spending. Are there any travel agencies or packages you can recommend? Quote

liuzhou Posted September 18, 2008 at 12:29 PM Report Posted September 18, 2008 at 12:29 PM It's not easy to answer when your choice is between a large province or a small city. Probably, Guilin makes more sense to do in the short holiday, but it is a total tourist trap. Especially, during public holidays. You can't see all the things worth visiting in Yunnan in a week. It's bigger than many western countries. Sichuan the same. About the size of France. Leave them for longer holidays Quote
