Qiuyue Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:39 AM Report Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:39 AM After having lived in China for a few years we have recently returned to Europe. When living in China I read China Daily and some other papers and magz on China in englisg, every day and thoroughly. It was a great sourse of information and gave me a broad as well as in depth view on many things in China i think. And now I fear that my knowledge will somewhat fade if I don´t continue this habit. I´d love to subscribe to China Daily, but it is very expensive to have it sent to Europe. Anyone who has suggestions for cheaper alternatives? I´ve been looking at at the China Economic review, but it is not as broad. PDF:s will also do. Quote
roddy Posted September 21, 2008 at 09:13 AM Report Posted September 21, 2008 at 09:13 AM Assuming you are happy to use a P2P downloading program like emule, you can find PDFs - English language ones are limited, but the China Daily seems to be kept up to date. Lots of other publications on there. Quote
liuzhou Posted September 21, 2008 at 02:56 PM Report Posted September 21, 2008 at 02:56 PM Maybe I'm completely missing the point. It wouldn't be the first time. While I am surprised that anyone says China Daily is a great source of information or "in depth", you say: When living in China I read China Daily and some other papers and magz on China in englisg So you are looking for it in English? It's on their website. Free. Quote
roddy Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:02 PM Report Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:02 PM I did mean to ask why the online version wasn't adequate. Liuzhou, those links will need installed peer to peer software - in this case emule or similar. Quote
msittig Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:04 PM Report Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:04 PM I was going to suggest http://www.abbao.cn/ , but then I saw the "English" bit. The Shanghai Daily is in English: http://www.shanghaidaily.com/ Quote
liuzhou Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:10 PM Report Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:10 PM Liuzhou, those links will need installed peer to peer software - in this case emule or similar. Yeah, I realised which is why I edited. Quote
Qiuyue Posted September 22, 2008 at 12:50 PM Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 at 12:50 PM Maybe I´m old school, but I prefer to sit down in my armchair with a tangible paper in my hand. I work in webbiz and spend 8 hours per day in front of a screen, I need some time offline. Also, I.m not sure they put everything out there - do they? Quote
