Running shoes in Guangzhou?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Another random question about getting things in Guangzhou. I'm trying to get running shoes. Not the bling, hip-hop baller sort, but for actual running.

Any suggestions? Extra bonus points for places that do actual shoe fittings where they examine your gait and all.

Thanks in advance!

You'd likely get the same service anywhere I might guess. (spent about 4 monts looking for shoes this last summer) Which is to say, just someone bringin you a box with whatever number on it you ask for haha. I guess I would suggest trying in Tianhe Sports Center (Tiyu Zhong Xin), across the street from Teemall/Grandview mall. It has various athletic and shoe stores. I eventually ended up getting a "cheap" pair of Anta's (wow why are shoes so expensive in China! (despite being made here, it seems minimum $50 US a pair for ones not made of plastic and glue).

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into it. :)

And I agree about the pricing of shoes. It's either 40 kuai shoes that last for 4 weeks or 400 kuai sneakers. Not a lot of in-between with pricing....
