Just came across 戗 in some HSK material but could not find many references to it ( It also did not feature on the HSK list as far as I could see). I guess it means supporting as in agreeing. Can someone give some examples as its use?

Actually, just the opposite - disagreeing:

戗1 (qiang1)

1.戗风 方向相对,逆,towards the opposite direction: 戗辙儿走

2.(言语)冲突,verbal clash: 两人说戗了,吵了起来

戗4

1.支撑,prop up, butress : 用把椅子戗在背后。――老舍《骆驼祥子》

This “戗” character is a little weird, and is not really used all that often. In over 30 years, I've never used it. (sh)

yeah, this part confuses me:

够~(形容很严重,难以支持)。

I've seen it sometimes written with 戗, and sometimes with 呛。。。hmm

in anycase, this is the usage i've encountered the most in spoken chinese at least...
