公报从北京 - 'dispatches from beijing'?

I posed a question yesterday, and got great responses, unfortunately the phrase wasn't what i was looking for. I am making a poster for a lecture by an architect from beijing.

In english it is called 'dispatches from beijing'

Is this the sense of 公报?

I mean 'dispatches' in the sense of reports, updates, or news.

I think it should be： 北京市报告 = BJ city report

as in： 北京奥运报告 or 北京经济报告

I would suggest 北京速报 or 北京速递, which gives a little bit more flavour of speed than a simple 报告, although much depends on the contents of the despatches, and to be honest, despatches and architects are not necessarily primary associations in English, anyway.

If it helps, it is a lecture in an academic context, about architecture and urban planning in Beijing in the past few decades.

'Dispatches' works in English, because it is a term that might have been used in the context of a communication between Beijing and North America when communication was more difficult. It has a sense of brevity and accuracy. As opposed to many academic lectures that are sprawling and superfluous.

if you mean news, update, or reports, news media can use "北京消息". For a lecture, i think北京信息, 北京匯報, 北京資訊, 北京傳真, 北京速报 北京速递 can be a choice too.

公报 is often used to describe dispatches from government sources.
