Mike2 Posted October 13, 2008 at 03:35 AM Report Posted October 13, 2008 at 03:35 AM Hello there, I heard that in BLCU we can skip 20% of classes, but I want to know if we skip more than that, what's gonna happen? Like... we still can go to classes? I heard that we can't register for exams... but that's not very clear.... what exam? Can we still make the final examination or any other kind of examination? and what about the 2nd semester... our attendence turns to 0% again? this is kind of many bad questions to ask... but I really want to know and I apreciate any answer. If u know something about it tell me please, thanks pals. Quote
Ratlike Posted October 15, 2008 at 05:36 AM Report Posted October 15, 2008 at 05:36 AM Im not sure about the percentage of classes you can skip, but if you skip too many i know for sure you cant attend the final exam. Just to make things clear, the one you do at the end of the course and that will give you the language certification. Quote
fanglu Posted October 15, 2008 at 07:10 AM Report Posted October 15, 2008 at 07:10 AM (edited) I did the 30 hour/week course a year ago and the rules were: - if you missed more than 120 hours of class you couldn't do the final exam (and so wouldn't get a certificate) - if you missed more than 150 hours of class you weren't allowed to come to class anymore - if you missed more than a consecutive week of class you couldn't continue studying (although I had a classmate who did and was fine, he did arrange it with the teacher first though) The rules for the 20 hour/week class are probably proportionate. That was for a one semester course. The numbers would reset at the end of semester because you'd be enrolling in a new course the next semester. If you're there on a year course I don't know. I'd guess it'd be the same, but who knows. Are you on a CSC scholarship? I heard a number of people being told off in Xi'an for not attending class who were on scholarships and being told their scholarships would be cancelled if they missed too many classes, don't know if it ever happened though. yueni Posted October 20, 2008 at 01:18 PM Report Posted October 20, 2008 at 01:18 PM The final exam is 60% of your grade in all of your classes, so basically, you automatically flunk out of the class. Quote
mengaimei Posted December 1, 2008 at 02:01 PM Report Posted December 1, 2008 at 02:01 PM What I'm wondering about is passing the course... if I fail the exam, is that it? I fail the course? Seeing that I've only missed one class, turned in all of my homework, it would really suck if I still failed the course. 60%!!! Insane. Any tips for preparing? Quote
