Kessha Posted October 14, 2008 at 04:40 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2008 at 04:40 PM Hello I have a question about Kingsoft PowerWord 2007. Can anybody tell me how I can change the interface from Chinese to English? Thank you in advance!
ABCinChina Posted October 15, 2008 at 05:19 AM Report Share Posted October 15, 2008 at 05:19 AM (edited) Are you using the traditional Chinese version or the simplified Chinese version? (I'll assume you're using the simplified version) 1. Right click on the Powerword icon in the taskbar on your lower-right of your screen. Then click the "设定...©" button with the toolbar icon. 2. Go into the “基本设定” under the "系统设定" heading. In the "界面语言" tab, click "英语(美国)". Sometimes you have to click on the "取词开关" box and click something like "F1". This toggles on/off for the pop-up translator. 3. Then click "确定" on the bottom and restart the program. 4. Be sure to install my CEDICT dictionary with pinyin for excellent pop-up translations! ABCinChina Posted October 15, 2008 at 10:08 AM Report Share Posted October 15, 2008 at 10:08 AM I assume Kessha is installing Powerword on a Chinese Windows operating system. Powerword defaults to the OS language for the menus. Thus, unfortunately you get Chinese menus if you install on a Chinese Windows which is not helpful if you haven't learned Chinese yet.
