evasiege Posted October 24, 2008 at 12:19 AM Report Posted October 24, 2008 at 12:19 AM I've noticed there are quite a few threads regarding which school to study at etc., but nothing really answering my question exactly. I'm going to be graduating this coming May and I'm looking to do an intensive language program in China or Taiwan next summer (n place specifically yet, just looking around). I'm also looking for all available scholarships that can be applied to these programs. I'm not looking for any type of undergrad or graduate credit so going through my current university is pointless as they don't work with students that aren't looking to transfer credit. I noticed there was the CSC scholarship, but having trouble understanding exactly how it works. It says the application process starts in January and goes to April or something. Can these be applied to summer programs? If they can, is it specifically for those universities only or can it be applied to language schools as well. If not, are there scholarships available for just language schools? Is it better to go through a university for language study or a language school that emphasizes teaching only Chinese. Whats the likelihood I could receive a full scholarship with decent grades grades etc. I've also seen other programs such as China Study Abroad and all the programs they have. Is it possible to apply government scholarships to these? I know its quite a few questions, but they are ones I still can't figure out after awhile of searching these forums. I know some scholarships have early application dates, so I'm trying to find as much information as possible. If someone could help me out a bit with some info I would really appreciate it. Quote
secretheart Posted October 24, 2008 at 04:41 AM Report Posted October 24, 2008 at 04:41 AM I don't have an answer to your questions, but I have one for you. What were the China study abroad programs that you saw? I've been looking at the BLCU program and am in the processing of learning more about it before I make any final decisions. Thanks! Quote
lilac521 Posted November 20, 2008 at 02:52 PM Report Posted November 20, 2008 at 02:52 PM China Study Abroad offers a scholarship option to their students too, in addition to any other money you can get from elsewhere, a friend of mine is thinking about applying for that to help fund her semester program in the spring. I'm sure if you email them they'll send it to you. The more funding options the better! Quote
