Translated song lyrics of the day/week/whatever

I was reading the "song of the day" thread and took a look at the lyrics at random of one of the songs mentioned there.

Can someone help me with my split-second Wenlin-assisted translation?

It's not a question of the English language -- I'm not at this stage too fussed about rendering it into completely completely perfect English. But I want to know about the Chinese. Thanks!

一翦梅 by Fei Yuqing (小哥)

youtube link

真情像草原广阔 层层风雨不能阻隔

总有云开日出时候 万丈阳光照耀你我

真情像梅花开过 冷冷冰雪不能淹没

就在最冷枝头绽放 看见春天走向你我

雪花飘飘 北风萧萧

天地一片苍茫

一翦寒梅 傲立雪中

只为伊人飘香

爱我所爱 无怨无悔

此情长留心间

真情像草原广阔

True feelings are like the vast grasslands

层层风雨不能阻隔

They can't be separated by any amount of wind or rain.

总有云开日出时候

At least when the sun scatters the clouds

万丈阳光照耀你我

The lofty sunlight shines on you and me

真情像梅花开过

True feelings are like plum blossom opening

冷冷冰雪不能淹没

The cold of the ice and snow can't drown them out.

就在最冷枝头绽放

Right now the coldest twig is blossoming

看见春天走向你我

See spring is approaching you and me.

雪花飘飘 北风萧萧

Snowflakes are falling, the north wind is whistling

天地一片苍茫

Heaven and earth are each indistinct

-- what is 一片 here? one flake??

一翦寒梅 傲立雪中

One cut of the winter plum tree, standing proudly in the middle of the snow.

只为伊人飘香

Only for that person fluttering.

-- what is 香 doing here?

爱我所爱 无怨无悔

???????, without resentment without regret

--爱我所爱 ... HELP! what does it mean?

此情长留心间

This lasting feeling remains in my heart (?)

I just had a quick look, but I would translate

真情像草原广阔 as

True feelings are vast as grasslands

(instead of True feelings are like the vast grasslands)

Thanks Lu. A couple of comments about this site on the youtube site caught my eye: apparently all Chinese patriots love this song, but non-Chinese are unable to understand the lyrics....??

atatkk (2 months ago) they dont write song like this one nowadays, what a pity. This is one of the most beloved chinese song. ask any chinese patriot.

jaimecyu (3 weeks ago) The lyric that only Chinese would understand, once translated...it looses all its meaning. I'm glad I understad.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet... especially if one person is speaking for several billion.
