chavalit Posted November 12, 2008 at 05:15 AM Report Posted November 12, 2008 at 05:15 AM I saw this on an ads for a women magazine "72页 大16开 双色印刷 全年订价:60元" I don't understand what 大16开 means. Also, what's with "double color"? Quote
roddy Posted November 12, 2008 at 05:24 AM Report Posted November 12, 2008 at 05:24 AM 大16开 will be the size of the paper it's printed on, though exactly what that size would be I don't know. Magazine-sized, at a guess. 双色印刷 is two-colour printing. Quote
daofeishi Posted November 12, 2008 at 05:57 AM Report Posted November 12, 2008 at 05:57 AM 16开 is the same as what we would call A4. As you probably know, our system is based on starting with A1 - which has a surface area of 1 square meter and proportions 1:sqrt(2). To get to A2, we cut the A1 sheet in half. A3 is half an A2 sheet, and so on. That means A4 has 1/16 the area of an A1 sheet of paper, and that's where the 16 comes from. From this, I guess you would prbably be able to guess that A5 is 32开.
