JohnFields Posted November 17, 2008 at 10:13 PM Report Share Posted November 17, 2008 at 10:13 PM Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if it's possible to help me out with some translations. I'm sending a postal package with some gifts and other stuff to my sister in china. For the Chinese customs declaration I have to describe what's in the package. I know it's allowed to write everything down in English, but that would spoil the surprise for my sister, since i'm sending some gifts .. That's why I need some help with translating these words (I tried to translate the words myself using a translator): Peanut butter - 花生酱 (mini) christmas tree - (迷你)圣诞树 Candy - 糖果 Headphones - 耳机 Christmas decoration - 圣诞装饰 Teddy bear - 玩具熊 Chocolate candy - 巧克力糖果 Cake mix - 蛋糕组合 or 做糕饼用的盒装现成材料 ?? Are these translations correct or should i use other? Greets, John
imron Posted November 18, 2008 at 01:37 AM Report Share Posted November 18, 2008 at 01:37 AM You might also just consider labeling everything as "educational materials".
BrandeX Posted November 18, 2008 at 03:59 AM Report Share Posted November 18, 2008 at 03:59 AM "it's thought that counts" aside, might I make the suggestion of presents/items that aren't readily available in China? (unless she is currently in a rural community) Those are typically highly desired and appreciated. Also, like mentioned in the link Imron posted, if you don't particularly label it as anything, or are nondescript, there is less chance someone will rip it open to take a peek.
