Jikolp Posted November 23, 2008 at 03:51 PM Report Posted November 23, 2008 at 03:51 PM (edited) Hi guys! I may go to BLCU for 4 weeks this summer and I was wondering whether to choose the intensive schedule or the normal one. I have read some sites already, and it seems to me I would probably end up in Group B or with more luck Group C. I´m not really the social type, so I don´t need time to party , but discovering the city, hanging around would be nice. Also, I don´t mind much homework and I think I could cope with an intensive course, which I would prefer, actually. However, my teacher told me it was too tough and I have no free time etc... So now I´ve started thinking about it, and it´s really hard to decide. I would like to learn as much as possible, but the uni is full of foreigners, so I won´t meet many Chinese anyway. I don´t want to go to discos etc. in Wudaokou, but even after 4pm I think I can go and hang around in the city nearby or even go to the centre, since there´s metro/bus/taxi. Also, weekends are still free, that´s still two days of laziness. ;) I would like to hear your opinions regarding the intensive courses. .There are more classes from Grammar/Speaking etc. ? How did you manage your time? I´m interested in everything. Sorry for the long post and thanks for your replies!! Edited November 25, 2008 at 05:28 PM by Jikolp Quote
Scoobyqueen Posted November 24, 2008 at 01:36 PM Report Posted November 24, 2008 at 01:36 PM I think you should go for the intensive. They say though for each lesson you need to prepare for one hour. I have done several intensive courses (one-to-one) six hours a day and I still have time for homework and do sports and eat in the evening. Social skills are important to develop especially if you are hoping to use your language skills in a business lcontext later. Quote
