JELLOS83 Posted November 27, 2008 at 12:10 AM Report Posted November 27, 2008 at 12:10 AM Hi all I am planning to study Chinese in China next year. Does anyone know if this site http://www.chinaeducenter.com/en/university.php is just another rip-off? This site asks 13000 yuan per semester and they guide you through the admission process. How much is the admission price when everything is taken care off by yourself? Thnak you in advance Quote
BrandeX Posted November 27, 2008 at 05:32 AM Report Posted November 27, 2008 at 05:32 AM I like how at the bottom of the page, they imply that you are not going to get into a good university in China without their help. Also, why would they be charging you 13,000 EVERY semester for "Admissions help"? Quote
roddy Posted November 27, 2008 at 05:34 AM Report Posted November 27, 2008 at 05:34 AM Hard to say what the costs are if you don't tell us which university you are looking at. That said, you should be able to find the costs on the university's own site fairly easily. Quote
jeffmiao Posted November 27, 2008 at 12:10 PM Report Posted November 27, 2008 at 12:10 PM man, regarding the cost i think it is acceptable if they can offer you the service as promised. but i am worring about the degree issue. i don't think it is such easy to get the official degree of the top school listed there. i suggest you can call the university directly they may offer you some advice. marcos2003 Posted March 7, 2009 at 03:09 PM Report Posted March 7, 2009 at 03:09 PM the site is good, some members here use their service too, this is how i learn the site. http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/2484-learning-to-read-handwriting5 they charge usd 300 to take care the admission process, not RMB 13,000. tuition and accomondation fee you pay to the university is same as you apply by yourself. i email them about a year ago, ask for range of budget, they tell me is about RMB 5000 to 13000, depend on which university i want to apply. I don't think they say anything about i can't get into top university without their help, they just tell me i need to act fast for top university chinese language program. Quote
simonlaing Posted March 8, 2009 at 05:11 AM Report Posted March 8, 2009 at 05:11 AM The most pricey university in Nanjing is 11-12,000 a semseter so I think they get at least 1,000-2000 per student. Also they probably get a kick back from the university . Small universities here are much cheaper 6,000 - 8,000 per semester (just a little more pricey than chinese fees. ) Listen to Marcos, though they might help with a home stay or something else. University dorms are usually much more expensive than a similar off campus apartment. good luck, Simon:) Quote
