bigtops Posted December 2, 2008 at 03:52 AM Report Posted December 2, 2008 at 03:52 AM So I notice that none've been added to the Guide to Studying in Beijing post at the top there in a long time--seemingly not since 2005--and that the Global Village thread hasn't been getting much chatter in a good while, either. I'm moving to Beijing in February and would like to enroll in an affordable private school that'll work with my schedule (which should be something like 8-12 hours of work a week, condensed into two or three weekdays). Any new developments out there? Quick background... I can read about 1,000 characters, write maybe 500 down from 700 or 800 when I was in China, and have the same mind-numbing "how many siblings do you have" conversation with relative ease before starting to cry a little because I start to feel like I'm six years old. I'm hoping to learn both speaking and writing but can take care of the character memorization on my own if I can learn the grammar at school. Many thanks! Quote
roddy Posted December 3, 2008 at 02:13 AM Report Posted December 3, 2008 at 02:13 AM This is probably the most useful recent post. You can also try searching for the names of specific schools and see if you find anything. Quote
