Hanlink Posted December 3, 2008 at 09:24 AM Report Posted December 3, 2008 at 09:24 AM Shekou itself is like any other town in China; big long straight streets, lots of shopping malls, restaurants, but it is reasonably clean. It is close to Shenzhen, where there is more to do (theme parks, science parks), but shopping and food are the main things to do in the area. If you are lucky, you won't need your thermals, since even when cold spells come, they do not usually last too long at a couple of days to a week max. Unless you are staying at a top hotel, do not expect any heating, though, but if you can layer up, you will be fine. Quote
aprilz Posted December 5, 2008 at 06:50 AM Report Posted December 5, 2008 at 06:50 AM If the population doesn't reach 1,000,000, Chinese people consider it a small town. Big mega cities, like Guangzhou, Shanghai, are homes for more than 10,000,000 people. Quote
chinesecanuck Posted December 5, 2008 at 07:59 AM Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 at 07:59 AM but isn't Shekou like parts of little town in Shenzhen.. It's just like Seattle area, shekou=Marysville or Tacoma Quote
