hanviet Posted December 5, 2008 at 07:32 PM Report Share Posted December 5, 2008 at 07:32 PM Is it possible to do a Dictionary Pinyin search without the tone marks (1,2,3,4) Example: gu li instead of gu3 li4 I am using ZDT 0.7.0 on XP
HashiriKata Posted December 6, 2008 at 09:57 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2008 at 09:57 AM Why don't you just try it and see? I don't use ZDT so I don't know what it can do but with a few I've tried, they tend to accept toneless pinyin and then ask you to choose from what they come up with to narrow down the choice. jbradfor Posted December 8, 2008 at 11:30 PM Report Share Posted December 8, 2008 at 11:30 PM AFAIK, no. Given the number of homonyms in Chinese, I'm not sure this is much of a problem. If you don't know the tones at all, then searching on the definition might be easier.
