Harvey Posted December 12, 2008 at 02:12 AM Report Posted December 12, 2008 at 02:12 AM (edited) Hello everyone. I've been to these forums before, in a previous life. Now I'm back! I'm thinking about BLCU or BNU during the Fall semester of 2009. I would be a total beginner in Chinese, and I want to enroll in the intensive program at BLCU. It doesn't seem that BNU has an intensive program, but I have read that the homework load is huge so maybe it will "seem" intensive. I have a strong background in Japanese, so I think I can pick up on the simplified Chinese characters quickly enough to allow me to keep up. (hoping) I have a few questions regarding this that I hope you can help me out with. 1. The BLCU intensive program -is- available for absolute beginners correct? 2. BNU does not have anything similar to BLCU's intensive program right? 3. When does the BLCU "Intensive One Semester Program (30 hours per week)" program end? I see that it starts in September, but I have not been able to find a precise end date on the BLCU webpage. 4. One more question. After one semester of intensive BLCU, considering my background in Japanese, what level of HSK do you think I could test at? 4a. How about after one semester at BNU? I've read a billion BNU vs BLCU threads, so just answers to these questions should be fine for now! Thanks! Edited December 12, 2008 at 04:38 AM by Harvey extra question Quote
