Harvey Posted December 14, 2008 at 04:54 PM Report Posted December 14, 2008 at 04:54 PM Hello, I was wondering if it would be feasilble to do BNU for a semester, while also going to attend an hour of class at Diqiucun after BNU is done for the day. Or perhaps, in the morning before it starts. Or if this is too hardcore I would just do Diqiucun on the weekends in addition to BNU. In either case, how far away are these places? And how is public transportation? Would it be feasible to commute between these too places? Thanks for any help! - Harvey Quote
heifeng Posted December 14, 2008 at 07:14 PM Report Posted December 14, 2008 at 07:14 PM yeah, it's possible. there is a direct bus route to wudaokou from BNU, but just try to avoid rush hour if possible. Anyway, many students do this commute... Quote
roddy Posted December 15, 2008 at 02:13 AM Report Posted December 15, 2008 at 02:13 AM Certainly doable - there are a number of buses that will get you there. I think traffic is a bit better now and commute times might be a bit less. An alternative would be to do several hours at Diqiucun one day at the weekend and then you only need to do the trip once and you get your evenings free (at the cost of a weekend day). Quote
roddy Posted December 17, 2008 at 07:58 AM Report Posted December 17, 2008 at 07:58 AM For random reference - took me about 20 minutes on the 743 from 明光桥 to Wudaokou. The 743 comes up 西直门北大街 which is a faster road than whatever the one on the east side of Beishida is called. A little further from the university itself, but not necessarily from wherever you end up living. That was outside of rush hour. Quote
