dalizee Posted January 2, 2009 at 07:27 PM Report Posted January 2, 2009 at 07:27 PM Hello! I have a question, because i don't know how it goes there. What do little Chinese children study in their first year of school? I understand the speaking thing, because every child does that after he's 1 or 2 years. But i have questions about the writing part. For example, us, the Romanian or everyone who uses letters, in our first year of school, we study how to write every letter and then how to make words. But there? What do you learn? Because i guess that it's hard for a child to do a character. For us, who started to study Chinese at 18, it was a little hard. So I imagine a child. Do you study pinyin? Can anyone explain it to me? What do you study in your first year of school? Thanks! Quote
stifler&巫 Posted January 3, 2009 at 01:41 AM Report Posted January 3, 2009 at 01:41 AM hey, buddy, you got a very interesting quesition. here i am a native chinese. at the begining of learning chinese,i started it from the Pinyin. meanwhile,at school ,i also studied some simple characters (like 一、二、你 etc.)with Pinyin on their tops. Then back home,i had to practice writing the Pinyin and the simple words on exercise - books which were specialed-made . The Chinese books(语文) for elementary schools and kindergarden in China are all having Pinyin above each character to allow students recognizing and pronouncing it easily and accurately.LOL.these were all the stuff i did when i was a kid.. and i have no idea of what the childrens are doing, nowadays. but i guess, they probably are doing the same things. pls feel free to ask if you also have some further questions. yours stifler&巫 Quote
gato Posted January 3, 2009 at 09:12 AM Report Posted January 3, 2009 at 09:12 AM You can see an elementary school Chinese textbook series used in China at the site below. You start with pinyin and "一去二三里“ and go on from there. http://www.pep.com.cn/xiaoyu/jiaoshi/tbjxzy/kbjiaocai/tb1s/ 义务教育课程标准实验教科书 语文 一年级上册 Quote
