Hero Doug Posted January 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM Report Posted January 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM I recently came across a New Zealand brand of milk called Anchor. It's 95% on par with Canadian milk in my opinion. I don't need to try at all to drink a glass, it goes down smooth ;) Has anyone come across a Chinese brand that's similar? Metro's pretty far from my house and I'd rather not go if I can avoid it. Quote
liuzhou Posted January 8, 2009 at 12:20 PM Report Posted January 8, 2009 at 12:20 PM Anchor is one of the top dairy companies in the world. I don't know where you can find local products of the same quality. You could try here. Quote
Hero Doug Posted January 9, 2009 at 06:26 AM Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 at 06:26 AM A little too fresh for my liking Quote
BrandeX Posted January 9, 2009 at 01:38 PM Report Posted January 9, 2009 at 01:38 PM Needs no refrigeration (Anchor) = not real milk for me, so I usually don't purchase that one. Most of the time I get "Kowloon Dairy" brand, but due to (i guess) the limited pasteurization here, it only lasts for 8 days. Quote
Hero Doug Posted January 10, 2009 at 06:11 AM Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 at 06:11 AM I've found that even though Anchor isn't refrigerated it still tastes quite good, I'd say almost as good as Canadian milk. I'll give Kowloon Dairy a try, I'm not worried about having to finish a carton within 8 days, I can handle that. Quote
BrandeX Posted January 12, 2009 at 10:01 AM Report Posted January 12, 2009 at 10:01 AM Yep, if you drink it often, it's no problem. I don't usually drink milk outright, just use it in cooking, like in Mac N Cheese, or a bowl of cereal, so often the remainder of my carton gets tossed. Quote
flameproof Posted January 13, 2009 at 08:07 AM Report Posted January 13, 2009 at 08:07 AM Needs no refrigeration (Anchor) = not real milk for me That would be H milk then. Fresh milk always needs cooling. Fresh in HK is only Dairy Farm and ..... (another brand that comes in small glass bottles.... Trapist or so??) In HK we get Pauls, Dutch Lady, Anchor and a few more imports. The milk from China taste different. Quote
