roddy Posted July 4, 2004 at 03:26 PM Report Posted July 4, 2004 at 03:26 PM When I was living in Harbin a few years ago an Internet cafe I went to was always playing a song I liked. I never found out what it was, but I'd like to get hold of it. I can't remember much of it. 我的爱,xiluoluo我的爱, xiluoluo And then there was some harmonica playing. Not much to go on, I know Roddy Quote
sunyata Posted July 4, 2004 at 03:59 PM Report Posted July 4, 2004 at 03:59 PM haha, great idea! can't help you with your song, Roddy, but I have my own mystery song to add... I heard it in Hunan, but it was a song in Mandarin and apparently a well-known one. It sounded like a folk song and the chorus went something like: "mini mini bai bai hua...mini mini bai bai hua..." I am not sure about the "mini mini" - it could have very well been a totally different pair of syllables, but as far as I can remember it sounded like the english word "many"...I am guessing the rest was “白白花” Anyone heard this song before? Yang Rui Posted July 5, 2004 at 05:51 AM Report Posted July 5, 2004 at 05:51 AM I think the song you heard might be Zheng Jun's "Chi luo luo". (Chiluo as in naked). He's written quite a lot of good stuff, although it's not all as jolly sounding as the song i think you heard. I think his name is "pingjun de jun". Sorry, i can't write characters here. Quote

ananda Posted July 5, 2004 at 07:30 AM Report Posted July 5, 2004 at 07:30 AM Sunyata, it's quite difficult to provide any information about that folk song, the dialect of Hunan adds more difficulty. BTW, I still remember a French song sung by a French girl in a garden during 1987, when I heard it at first time, It impressed me greatly, after some time later, I opened the tv and watched her again, it's sad that that's the last time I saw her. my puppy tele-love. shibo77 Posted July 10, 2004 at 11:45 PM Report Posted July 10, 2004 at 11:45 PM Sorry to bother! But I wanted to ask about two of my mystery songs... An English song, female, probably 60's or 70's American. "I was listening to the radio, when da di da da da--" A French song, female, pretty new song, probably Françoise Hardy? "ma jeunesse fou... ... ... chercher une violette..." Sorry, it's all I can remember. Thanks in advance! -Shibo Quote
skylee Posted July 10, 2004 at 11:52 PM Report Posted July 10, 2004 at 11:52 PM I guess that English song is Carpenters' "Yesterday Once More" ... You can listen to it here and find the lyrics too. Quote
shibo77 Posted July 11, 2004 at 04:24 AM Report Posted July 11, 2004 at 04:24 AM Yes! Thanks so very much! I haven't listened to it for half my life... seems like it was only yesterday. Still sounds good to me. -Shibo Quote
