Can someone tell me the difference in meaning and usage between these terms? Thanks. Hanlink Posted January 20, 2009 at 09:13 AM Report Share Posted January 20, 2009 at 09:13 AM The meaning is the same, since the 支 used here is short for 支出 (出 is used in the same way in 入不敷出, i.e. it also stands for 支出). Here in Hong Kong, the way in which Chinese is used, and sometimes the terms used, are quite often different from standard mandarin. Some of it comes from dialect differences, others from habit.
