Kessha Posted January 25, 2009 at 08:23 PM Report Posted January 25, 2009 at 08:23 PM (edited) Hello! In the last two weeks of february I will be visiting a friend of mine in the States. She told me that I could order some things from american websites to her house and take the stuff back home with me when I was leaving. So I wanted inquire if anybody knows any good online book shops where I can order some chinese studybooks. Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help greatly! DrWatson Posted January 26, 2009 at 05:44 AM Report Posted January 26, 2009 at 05:44 AM If it is books, try Cheng & Tsui publishing company. They publish a lot of books for use in university curriculum. Quote
Kessha Posted January 26, 2009 at 08:50 AM Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 at 08:50 AM Oh sorry! I meant books, of course! Quote
Kessha Posted January 26, 2009 at 08:59 AM Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 at 08:59 AM Thank you for Chen & Tsui... but the shop is far too expensive, I compared some prices and they charge almost double the actual price. http://www.chinabooks.com/ for example is far cheaper. I'm looking for online stores that charge about the same as chinabooks.com as I'm only a poor student Thank you Quote
imron Posted January 26, 2009 at 09:18 AM Report Posted January 26, 2009 at 09:18 AM Why not just get them sent directly to your home country from somewhere like Study Chinese Culture? Postage will be more expensive, but the books themselves will be cheap. Quote
Kessha Posted January 26, 2009 at 10:58 AM Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 at 10:58 AM I know that site already, thanks, but first of all the customs charges would be kinda high, and secondly their shipping + handling charges for the airmail option are waaay to high. So this one is a no go for me. Any other good shops that are located in the US and don't have such hefty prices? Quote
roddy Posted January 26, 2009 at 12:09 PM Report Posted January 26, 2009 at 12:09 PM Amazon maybe, depending on what you're looking for, Ebay also has some stuff. Airmailing books is expensive - that's why buying books by airmail is expensive. Quote
