Hi, I've search on youtube for some Chinese New Year song with karaoke lyrics, and found this one called Meng Laowai :

Is it about Ox? Or can it be used every year?

Thanks...

Hi,

Can some one explain the New Year lyrics "janema lagbi" of this video:

I guess it's Chinese (the signs look like Chinese)

Thanx

Yes, it's Mandarin Chinese. He's singing "Fuck your mother's cunt" over and over again. He's also used the incorrect character for fuck.

Thank you (I'm very surprised by the lyrics!!!)

And sorry for having posted my question twice; I did not see my message the first time and thought it hasn't been validated because posted in the wrong forum...

I don't see anything wrong. What's the correct one?

He sings and writes diao (there we go again, my computer won't write the character). I've never heard that to mean fuck.

The correct character is 入 over 肉, something else my computer won't type, pronounced cao4. That character is rarely used anymore, it's usually written 操. The bi1 he writes is also the rarely used vulgar version, it's usually written 逼 now.

I like the original, vulgar versions better.

Agree, back to the roots!

By the way, I am 99 percent sure that this was lip synced, he is not singing this at all! It becomes obvious when he is singing "bi", this is not what the lip movement for "b" looks like.

To me it seems like he is singing cao not diao - actually just reading the comments on the Youtube video, he appears to admit this. Anyway, the original character for cao is 肏 but is often written as 操, as the former is rather graphic in its composition (being comprised of the characters for enter 入 and meat 肉).

It sounds like jiao or qiao to me. I'd guess he's saying "diao" but the recording is bad.
