Which university has better dorms for foreigners, SCNU or Sun Yat Sen University?

Hi Everybody,

I am a foreign student who will study Mandarin this spring semester in Guangzhou. I have got admission from Sun Yat Sen University and South China Normal University(SCNU). I have not decided yet which university to go. I know that Sun Yat Sen University has a better reputation. But for me the accomodation plays an important role. I would like to stay in the dormitory. Here is my question; which university has better dormitories for foreigners in terms of cleanless and student satisfaction, SCNU or Sun Yat Sen University? If anyone shares his/her experiences about this issue (or provide me some photos of the dorms), I will highly appreciate his/her help.

As I mentioned before, SCNU is kind of a dump, it's basically for the poor/migrants. Absolutely go with Sun Yat Sen.

You will be pleased to hear that soaps, detergents, cloths and bathroom cleansers are now readily available in most Chinese supermarkets.

Not sure I'll remember to take any pics, but look at it this way: Sun Yat Sen is the #2 University in Guangdong (under Jilin), and is also in the top 12 in all of China. SCNU is essentially a nobody, it's a "teacherage"/"norms" school to teach Chinese people to be K-12 Chinese teachers. There is some foreigners there though in the Intl. building, mostly africans and russian/ukrainians. In Guangzhou there is "Sun Yat Sen" everything, they have like a half dozen affiliated hospitals (one campus is the medical uni), various campus in dif parts of town, etc. it's huge.
