geek_frappa Posted July 6, 2004 at 03:11 PM Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 03:11 PM why "thin"? is it to appear hungry? so guys will show the need to feed you food? Quote
geek_frappa Posted July 6, 2004 at 03:13 PM Author Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 03:13 PM no! it is not the same obsession everywhere. chinese THIN is much thinner than American THIN... and it scares me ... it adds stress to my female colleagues because men expect them to be thin... Quote
xuechengfeng Posted July 6, 2004 at 04:55 PM Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 04:55 PM looks good to me Quote
sunyata Posted July 6, 2004 at 10:40 PM Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 10:40 PM Thin is good - looks good on everyonel better than fat anyday Quote
keith Posted July 6, 2004 at 10:56 PM Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 10:56 PM Surely you mean Chinese girls are expected to be 'slim'. something like 158cm=45kg, 170cm=50kg, etc... Quote
skylee Posted July 6, 2004 at 11:07 PM Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 11:07 PM But I have heard men say that they do not like very thin women because they feel bony when they hold them. Many men seem to prefer women who are 有點肉. Quote
Guest dingo Posted July 7, 2004 at 05:17 AM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 05:17 AM thin women look good.. all modles r thin would u rather a fat women? hahaha anyway lots of chinese people are thin naturally bcoz they have small bones Quote
xiaozhu Posted July 7, 2004 at 08:43 AM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 08:43 AM Lots of Chinese when they come to England put on weight because they eat our food. Thin women are great to look at but for anything *ahem* else then a bit of fat is great. Quote
keith Posted July 7, 2004 at 03:23 PM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 03:23 PM Yeah, most of my Chinese girl friends moan all the time they put on extra weight ( up to 5 kg) when they are in England, probably due to the high fat content of British food! I can't imagine what happens to those Chinese girls who go to the US, apparently their food is even more fattening than the Brits! Quote
Quest Posted July 7, 2004 at 08:00 PM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 08:00 PM I can't imagine what happens to those Chinese girls who go to the US, apparently their food is even more fattening than the Brits! immigrants usually keep a chinese diet, so their weights do not change much. I've noticed quite a few american born chinese girls that are fat by chinese standards, especially around the upper arms. I think the girl in the picture could put on a little bit more, but she's still fine the way she is. any thinner would be bad. Quote
elizaberth Posted July 8, 2004 at 04:19 AM Report Posted July 8, 2004 at 04:19 AM What happens if maggie cheung becomes fat and she tries to wear a cheongsam (Qi Pao)? Why do you want to look like a stuffed dumpling? Quote
holyman Posted July 8, 2004 at 10:42 AM Report Posted July 8, 2004 at 10:42 AM hmm, i would prefer ladies with more curves... thin girls looked like suffering from malnutrition to me. Quote
Amdir_Flassion Posted July 8, 2004 at 01:13 PM Report Posted July 8, 2004 at 01:13 PM agree completely with holyman To me, being beautiful means being healthy. If you're skinny, looks like u hav malnutrition. If you're too fat, then another sign of an unhealthy lifestyle. It's all about getting the balance. My HK friends like thin women, but I prefer a bit of 肉 . The thinness is much worse when she has pale skin - looks like a rotting corpse i.e. pale skin like a dead person and just having bones remaining. I think many Chinese gals are so thin to the point that even a box of 烧肉 has more flesh than them. Quote
keith Posted July 11, 2004 at 05:40 PM Report Posted July 11, 2004 at 05:40 PM This conflict is probably due to west-east cultural differences. In Oriental society, women has always looked better when they are slim; however in the West, it is not always the case. Perhaps it is something to do with the influences of the plump European models during the Renaissance in 16th-18th century Europe?? Also, pls remember that Oriental women are naturally more petite than their Western counterparts. Quote
SassybutSweet Posted July 15, 2004 at 05:28 AM Report Posted July 15, 2004 at 05:28 AM Holyman is right when he said that he perfers women with more curves, most men do!!! Only a dog wants a bone, and even they want a little meat!!! Its Hollywood that is telling people that they have to look half dead to look good!! And for those in another country who have never heard of Hollywood, they are just going by what their society says!!! But I don't care where you go some people always think that you've got to be rib bone poking out of your skin thin!! Not true!! And it cracks me up when some women think they know what a man so called likes!! I'am not a man but I know that when a man bypasses a bone poking out the skin thin women then chances are thats not what he wants!!! Quote
Jamie Posted July 15, 2004 at 06:08 AM Report Posted July 15, 2004 at 06:08 AM My guess is that when a lot of men say they like a little meat they mean they like the curves - like full breasts and hips, a nice round bottom perhaps, but they still like a reasonably small waist / flat stomach. I am thinking that the preference for 'meat', 'flesh', and 'curves' in this case does not mean men prefer chubby women... ?? Quote
SassybutSweet Posted July 15, 2004 at 06:18 AM Report Posted July 15, 2004 at 06:18 AM Why are so many men dating them?! Chubby I mean!! Quote
SassybutSweet Posted July 15, 2004 at 06:29 AM Report Posted July 15, 2004 at 06:29 AM Why are so many men dating them?! Chubby I mean!! Quote
holyman Posted July 15, 2004 at 05:24 PM Report Posted July 15, 2004 at 05:24 PM i still prefer a little hump below the belly button... feels good when i lie down on it. i like to have my female friends feeding me grapes or peanuts while i lie down on their laps or tummy. Quote
Adam Posted July 15, 2004 at 11:32 PM Report Posted July 15, 2004 at 11:32 PM I agree with jamie, fat in the right places is good. But fat arms, tummy, and legs is personally a turn-off. My theory is that guys want a girl smaller than themselves (generally). Quote
