raea01 Posted July 6, 2004 at 07:15 PM Report Posted July 6, 2004 at 07:15 PM Hello, I am looking for good quality books. Most of the one i have tried already have focused only on speaking or only on writing and few on grammar. Are there any that are easy to understand that cover ALL aspects of the chinese language, i.e. how to write characters, build simple sentences, pronounce the words properly, possibly contains simple reading exercises, exercises that get you to apply all aspects of the language- and a book that is not too short. Please tell me where to find more information about the books, and also how you find them. I am fairly young (14) so bear that in mind but I am not thick :-) thank you. Quote
roddy Posted July 7, 2004 at 02:13 AM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 02:13 AM this is, for my money, the best easily available all-round textbook. There is more focus on speaking and listening than reading and writing, but it will give you the basics in all skills. Make sure you get the tapes or CD as well. You should be able to pick this up in any reasonably sized UK bookstore. Roddy Quote
