my3rdlang Posted February 11, 2009 at 06:46 AM Report Posted February 11, 2009 at 06:46 AM I will be applying for a work visa in China soon. I heard that we need to submit our 大学学历 (record of formal university schooling). I am pretty sure that my university (in usa) has never given us such a thing. All I have is my degree (学位) and transcript (成绩单). Those of you who applied for a work permit/visa in the past, did they ask for the 学历? Thanks! Quote
gougou Posted February 11, 2009 at 06:55 AM Report Posted February 11, 2009 at 06:55 AM Pretty sure I didn't need that, only a 简历 - CV. Quote
Yang Rui Posted February 11, 2009 at 08:13 AM Report Posted February 11, 2009 at 08:13 AM I think a photocopy of your university graduation certificate (what you are calling your degree 學位) will be fine - basically anything to show that you graduated. When i applied for a work permit i supplied a CV (簡歷) and a copy of my graduation certificate. Quote

liuzhou Posted February 11, 2009 at 11:21 AM Report Posted February 11, 2009 at 11:21 AM (edited) Of course you must supply a copy of your degree certificate. I've never, ever heard of anyone being asked for their school record, though. Here and here are the requirements for issuing a Z visa (this is a leaflet issued by Guangxi Foreign Experts Bureau - there may be slight local variations, but not drastic ones).
