Guest dingo Posted July 7, 2004 at 06:09 AM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 06:09 AM why is it that chinese like to keep to themselves and never teach all the kungfu to their students.. they always keep a bit to themselves and never teach all of the kungfu they know.. and when they die.. the skills they possess is lost forever and never get passed on. This is where chinese people lost in the martial arts reign. bcoz there are no standards in kungfu where as in karate and taekwondo, there are distinctive belt colours to indicate martial art ability. xiaozhu Posted July 7, 2004 at 08:52 AM Report Posted July 7, 2004 at 08:52 AM The people who don't get taught everything are the students who didn't work hard and show the proper respect to the teacher. So of course the teacher held back. Karate and Tae Kwon Do may have belts but they are now sport martial arts and have very very little use out of their domain. I thought China's martial arts is suffering because all the great fighters were deported, and then wu shu was promoted which again has little application in any other domain than sport. Quote
