Please contribute data on Chinese universities -

Hello to all fellow Chinese learners.

I am collecting data from everybody on various Universtities/Schools in China with the goal to have a better picture on 'where is best to study'..the one million dollar question. I will put the results back on this forum, so please help with whatever information you have. If can also ask friends attending other classes.

Data I would looking for is:

Name of the school and city:

Level attended (beginner, intermediate, etc)

Number of students per class

Number of hours/day and price

Comment on the quality of teaching

Comment on the city degree of 'full immersion'.i.e if you feel you spent all the time speaking English with fellow students.

Local people 'curiosity' versus foreigner..ie. easy to make local friends on public areas

Ilprincipe, there are already lots of posts and threads on lots of universities. I think it might work better if you first go looking by yourself, and then come back here, to explain what you have found, what exactly you're looking for, and what information you still miss. I think you'll find more information that way.

They're all going to be personal experiences. Unless you get loads of responses from each University, it won't be worth much. Better just to tell people to search these forums as they contain quite useful personal accounts.

Take, for example, the hotel reviews in Tripadvisor. If a hotel has quite a few reviews you can work out roughly what the hotel will be like. If it's just one or two, you really are only basing it on someone's prejudices. In those cases I need to work out where the person's from and apply my own prejudices to their prejudiced reviews, ending up in me really making up my own opinion based on nothing ;)

it's true, unless there are lots of response, it makes no sense..and since there have been no data so far, I guess the project is dead ...

mine was a genuine attempt at making life easier for everyone.
