Irondave Posted February 20, 2009 at 10:28 PM Report Posted February 20, 2009 at 10:28 PM (edited) hey I'm looking to apply independently to some unis in China(Tsinghua, Fudan, Jiatong) for the 1 year language course starting in sep 2009 and on all the application forms they ask for a contact person China. Problem is I don't have one. Will the universities reject my application if I dont put down a contact in China? Has anyone here applied and been successful without stating a contact person in China? cheers dave Edited February 21, 2009 at 01:16 AM by imron title Quote
anonymoose Posted February 21, 2009 at 03:00 AM Report Posted February 21, 2009 at 03:00 AM You could probably get away with just putting a fake one down. I'm currently studying at Jiaotong University, and they didn't check on my contact person. Quote
fanglu Posted February 21, 2009 at 11:19 AM Report Posted February 21, 2009 at 11:19 AM You should probably not leave it blank. My experience was that the first time I went to china I wrote someone in Australia, which was accepted. The second and third semesters I filled in the form at the uni I was applying for and they insisted I write something in the box so I just wrote friends' names. For the third one I just wrote someone's name (who had actually already left china), "北京市北京语言大学" as the address and a made-up phone number and that was fine, so I don't think they're all that picky, as long as there is something written on the form that they can enter into their computer, or whatever they do with it.
