Now, before I get there I plan to have some Chinese under my belt, so I'm going to start studying the FSI course. And that leads me to my question. If I study the FSI course for three hours every day for three months, how far would I progress through the course, and what relative skill would I possess? Any estimates would be welcome. I did Pimsleur 1-3 and FSI units 1-7 and Chinese Learn Online 1-120 (roughly) over the course of aabout a year. I had gaps here and there, hung out with some Chinese people on the weekends and stuff and after that I was at the level where i can ask basic things but my listening was still not that great. Id recommend to suppliment your studying you listen to as much chinese as you can even if you dont understnad it. Listen to chinese radio, tv etc and get a feel for how the language sounds. Remember, there is no use learning how to ask someone a question if you can understand the reply!.. listening as much as you can! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
