roddy Posted July 10, 2004 at 02:21 AM Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 at 02:21 AM I just happened to find a Minnanhua broadcast on CCTV4. This is the first time I've heard anything other than mandarin on national TV here. Are there any other similar programs? Roddy
pazu Posted July 10, 2004 at 12:39 PM Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 at 12:39 PM I think 中央人民廣播電台 has a Cantonese channel in shortwave, but the program was boring and dull.

berylchan Posted July 16, 2004 at 09:35 AM Report Share Posted July 16, 2004 at 09:35 AM And the English program, CCTV 9 (or CCTV 12, not sure).
geraldc Posted July 16, 2004 at 04:11 PM Report Share Posted July 16, 2004 at 04:11 PM In the UK after midnight CCTV 9 suddenly starts broadcasting one stereo channel in English, and the other stereo channel in Spanish. Nothing focuses your mind on reading chinese subtitles like watching a Chinese news report dubbed into Spanish when you don't speak Spanish. Yuchi Posted July 18, 2004 at 09:31 PM Report Share Posted July 18, 2004 at 09:31 PM I thought CCTV 9 was always in english? Yes I found it odd that cctv 4 had a different dialect on too, I thought I had gone crazy that day. =/

They have a French version, Japanese version, German version, Arabic version, Spanish version... -Shibo
