non-blocked blog providers

I think this is the right forum to post this kind of thing.

My question is about blog provider websites, and as to which ones are not currently blocked by China. Yes, I'm aware that it's subject to change, but perhaps someone here knows of a good one which might be "relied upon" to not be blocked by China in the foreseeable future.

At the moment I use blog.ifeng.com but if there's perhaps a blog out there that is less likely to be blocked by the Chinese government, I'd like to know.

By the way, I'm only interested in websites providing free blog publishing services (i.e. I don't want to set up my own website with blogging script, etc). I'm quite a fan of wordpress.org but as far as I know it's been blocked for a while now.

If you have a Chinese blog (in Chinese, about Chinese, etc), do let me know which provider you use and if they're worth checking out. Cheers!

I use blogspot.com. I have been using it since September last year and can only remember one time I could not access it from in China.

yahoo360 is another that was never blocked as long as I was there and its pretty decent...

what is the best blog site to use to create your own blog from China? Are some blog sites blocked?

just for reference: wordpress and blogspot are blocked as of October 4th, 2011. I also used to have a blog.com blog, which was really nice and easy to use (and free!), but then it got blocked more or less too. I think going with a Chinese hosted blog provider is the best way. such as BrandeX's suggestion of 163.com. Liuzhou suggested blog city, but he just posted "The last post" and is moving on to another provider as blog-city kicks the bucket.

i ended up setting up my own blog on a paid service. i don't want the world reading it, it's more like a "hi family. i'm still alive. this is what i'm doing. see?" kind of thing, since it would seem ridiculous to email the things i post to everyone. i don't mind if it's reference for others considering going to china, but it should never be popular. i also didn't want ads...especially Chinese ads so my family accidentally thinks i put it there myself since they don't understand what's written on it. ugh.

I also use sina now but somehow I don't think very highly of it. I guess I am really unhappy that it does not allow users to set the date of the blog articles.

I'm not clear on how setting the date of a blog article would cause unhappiness?

Posted

Because I would like my travel blogs to be dated the date I wrote it, not the date I uploaded it to sina, which is the default date and can't be changed. Both wordpress and blogspot (I also use them) allow users to set the blog date. When I don't get what I want (especially very simple / easy things), I feel unhappy.

Oh. I just stick the date of travel into the blog article title, that is what I did for my blogs on Vermont. After I came back I just uploaded them and stuck actual dates into the titles.

Is there any update on this subject? I am still unhappy with sina and would like suggestions of alternatives, preferably not-China based ones but are accessible in China.

And do other people still blog?

Is Tumblr blocked? It's a blogging platform, but has a social media aspect where other Tumblr users can like or reblog posts. It started as an independent website, but is now owned by Yahoo.

I can access it in Xiamen, sans VPN.
