seeking english>chinese translation

I was having a conversation today with a colleague at work, and I came across a word I didn't know how to say in Chinese; it's been a while since that last happened.

Anyway, I'm hoping some of the bilingual folks on here can grok out a translation.

The word is "try-hard." It is an English 俚语 that means someone who tries so ridiculously hard to be accepted by someone else or another group yet is so obvious about it in doing so, that they fail miserably. It is 贬义。

It can refer to a place too, in that it ultimately refers to that place's developers or designers, as in: 世贸天阶 is so fucking try-hard.
