No, but you might still wait for them in the lobby if there is one, because it's typically nicer to wait in a lobby that probably has chairs and is protected from the elements (no wind, heated in winter, air-conditioned in summer etc).

If and only if there's a waiting area in the lobby, sure, why not wait inside the building? Otherwise, I was just answering the question.
