weksa Posted March 28, 2009 at 09:50 PM Report Share Posted March 28, 2009 at 09:50 PM Hello, I'm new to Chinese and trying to install Sogou 4.1. After installing, it looks like I have to go through 6 steps of preference settings or something. I have no idea what any of it says -- well, I can understand the back and next buttons haha. Mainly, I want to type traditional, using hanyu pinyin. It's for a beginning Chinese class. Thanks.
skylee Posted March 29, 2009 at 12:58 AM Report Share Posted March 29, 2009 at 12:58 AM I don't recall what the steps are about but if they just let you choose your preferences you can always do it later. This may be helpful -> http://go2zhongguo.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/chinese-pinyin-input-method-installation-guide.pdf Also this -> http://sogou-chime.blogspot.com/2009/01/first-go-httppinyin_23.html After your have it installed, press Ctrl+Shift+F to switch between simplified/traditional script. Or press the spanner icon of the language bar and choose 简繁切换.
weksa Posted March 29, 2009 at 02:59 AM Author Report Share Posted March 29, 2009 at 02:59 AM Ah cool, got it working, thanks. Also, now and then there are popup notifications in the taskbar. Is there a way for me to disable those (since I can't read them anyways)?
weksa Posted March 29, 2009 at 07:08 AM Author Report Share Posted March 29, 2009 at 07:08 AM Ah here, this is what I mean by popup notifications. I was able to get a screencap of one of the popups: Some of the popups are lengthier.
